Tutorial : Modifying DID hands to fit DML Bodies
A straight forward tutorial on how to convert DID hands to fit DML bodies - not new news to most
Since we prefer DML bodies, we perform this modification frequently to replace any great looking hands with DML’s (outdated) ones. Recently DID and Twisting Toys released some great bare hands which provides some amazing new options to this hobby.
So, here’s the objective of this tutorial - swapping DID hands (right) with DML’s joint (left). DID’s joint is too big to fit into DML’s arms, thankfully they have the same joint concept and swapping can be done very easily.
As mentioned eariler, DID produced some amazing hands. IMHO the are the best now in the market And they are not stingy with them hands - a box set would come with all the below!!!! The pointing hands and the rifle gripping hands are priceless - thanks DID!!!

Let’s start with DID’s hand - firstly is to remove the pin out of the joint. As you see in the photo below, i use a sharp device to push the pin out the other end. Sometimes the pin gets really tight and a bit of strength is needed. Occasionally you might encounter pin that could not even budge - my solution is the heck with DID’s joint - so i totally destroyed the joint using the cutter to get the hands

The pin is out and the joint gets separated from the hand….

Now working with DML’s hands - same thing - easy peasy ![]()

Done.

Now the DID’s hands and DML’s joint (fits like a glove!), using DML’s pin - the pin is inserted through the pinhole. I use the table to push against the pin…

I take about 15 minutes to get all the below done ….

Till next time!
